Festival of Books

This weekend was the Tucson Festival of Books. It draws in about 50,000 people and is one of the top 10 book events in the country. Peter and I headed down to the University of Arizona campus to hit the children's corner.

Peter got lots of free stuff. Bags, pencils, coloring books, band-aids, and books books books!

We even met Darth Vadar! Peter was staring him down. We also saw Princess Leia, the hungry caterpillar, Clifford the big red dog, and Ronald McDonald.

Peter had fun going to the different storytimes. His favorite was the one with Ronald McDonald. Who knew my son would like a clown? We never got really close, but he liked watching from a distance. He would yell "Yay!" when the story was over.

Peter got some yummy treats too. We got a bubble gum shaved ice and some corn on the cob. He LOVES corn on the cob!

After a few hours buried deep in the crowd we decided we needed some open space.

Peter and I explored the University campus. He liked to run up and down the hills and kick at the oranges that had fallen from trees.

In 16 years my boy will be at a college like this! Roaming the campus with his backpack... He just got a little taste of what it will be like for him one day.
