For daddy's birthday weekend we decided to head down to the zoo as a family outing. It was great weather. Sunny with a high of 90 degrees. Much cooler than every other day this time of year. You couldn't ask for a better day.
It was nice to have a relaxing stroll around the zoo. It's one of our favorite outings. Since we have a membership we can go anytime! We dressed Peter in his giraffe tank top for when we would go see the giraffe's.
Peter got to see the Rhino's, but they were lazy and taking a nap.
John got to try his hand at feeding the giraffe's with Peter. They fed him a biscuit...
And then a big leaf of lettuce. (The giraffe's nose is in the left side of the shot...coming in for the food.)
Yum yum yum!
Peter got a little scared of the giraffe.
After the giraffe we went to the splashpark at the zoo. Peter found the buttons this time. They have buttons set up around the exterior that set off different sprinklers. Its hell for mommies and daddies trying not to get wet. We will think we are safe and then a kid finds the buttons and WHAM we are soaked. Peter doesn't have the strength to actually push the buttons yet, thankfully.
Peter tried his hand at the water pump too. He loves to sit in this pool of water and splash.
