Last Saturday Peter and Jen went to Tucson Gay Pride at the big city park. Some of our friends were playing on the main stage so we went and met up with some people to kick back, eat great food, and listen to the music.
You couldn't ask for a more beautiful day! The sun was shining, it was in the 80's and nice and cool. We got out spread out a blanket and got out some snacks. (We were also grateful we weren't in Iowa...they had snow that day!)
Peter really wanted to try to drink my Diet Pepsi.
There was a big concrete slab dance area in front of the stage. Peter got a free beach ball from one of the vendors and spent the whole time chasing it around. He ended up kicking and throwing it back and forth with people in the audience.
It is so much fun to watch him make friends! He has no pre-judgements for people. He would go up to almost anyone and try to get them to play with him. It's amazing to watch everyone drop their "cool" facades and start smiling as they toss a ball to this happy giggling little boy. He was so popular with the crowd that he even got a shout-out from the MC on stage.
Peter decided he was going to share a rock with a drag queen that walked by. He followed her until he could poke her leg then when she crouched down he gave her a rock and a big smile. SO SWEET! He ended up bringing her about 5 different rocks. I love how accepting he is of so many different kinds of people!
