Pumpkin Pickin'

Today we went to Buckelew Farms to take part in their Pumpkin Festival! It was a sweltering mid-90's at 10am and we were sweating the minute we got there!

We met another mom, Jen & her little girl Abigail there. These are the same people we went to Oktoberfest with. Such good friends! And the kids get along great!

Peter was a little tired from the drive and it was around naptime so he was kinda sleepy and didn't have energy to do much. He kept a tight hold on Chewy the whole time. We tried visiting the petting zoo, but Peter didn't want me to set him down. There were little haystack mountains around that the kids tried climbing.

Mommy climbed the haystack!

So did Dad! It was nice to have a friend there to take some family photos of us! We returned the favor of course!

Peter was fascinated by the tractor-trailers that pulled us out to the pumpkin patch. Once in the patch the ground was a little unstable for the little ones.

The kids kept falling over into the dirt.

Peter decided it was too hot to look for a pumpkin so he sat down on one instead.

There were so many people out picking pumpkins today!

Mom and Peter were getting sweaty and thirsty so we had John pick a few pumpkins for us and Jen and Abigail. John became the official pumpkin carrier!

This is the final pumpkin we decided on. We still have more pumpkin events to go to this week so we chose a little pumpkin here. Peter thought it was pretty neat. It's kinda heavy but he can lift it!

We were hoping to do the corn maze but we were melting in the heat and the kids probably couldn't handle much more. We decided to leave and have our snacks in the air conditioned car. Great idea! It was a nice little family outing and great to have some friends to share it with!
