Peter's First Zoo Visit

The "big" city park, Reid Park, had a family fun day event today and we headed out on the town to join in. Our biggest goal was that the zoo was open for free so we took Peter to the zoo for the first time. It was a little busy of course so he had trouble seeing all the animals far away but he was still entertained by just watching all the people and plants.

He was able to get pretty close to the peacocks and the girafes. They fascinated him and it was hard to get him to look away from them to get a picture. John was able to tell one of his co-workers who has older kids so we met up with them and they had fun too. After the zoo we went through the rest of the park, but most of the other kid events like bounce castles and carnival games were all for the older kids.

We ended up just going to the bandshell and listening to some music while Peter slept in his stroller. It was a nice relaxing day and it was fun to take Peter to the zoo. At some point I'm gonna get a zoo membership so I can take Peter more. It'll be ideal down the road when he starts knowing animals and making their noises. Can't wait for that moment!

How fun! I love the monkey shirt on Peter. It looks like you had a great day at the zoo. That was always one of your favorite field trips when you were little too.

Yay! The zoo rocks! I wish I could have gone on this trip :(

Maybe we can go to the zoo together this summer.
