Merry Grinch-mas!

After a long hike we finally arrived at the U of A bookstore for a special storytime featuring The Grinch Who Stole Christmas!!! Ever since Peter got into the Hulk and Shrek several months ago he has also been into the Grinch...all those green guys are super cool! Peter definitely knows who the Grinch is and was thrilled when the big screen tv had the movie playing when we walked in.


We hurried downstairs and found them reading the Grinch book already and there were all kinds of Grinch crafts set up. Peter got to make his own Grinch mask!


They also had a cute marshmallow craft to make a mini snowman! So simple and so effective! Peter loves snowmen and loves marshmallows so he was entranced. I'm surprised it lasted a few minutes in his hands before getting devoured.


At the end of the story the large group gathered all stood up and sang christmas carols. We sang "We Wish You a Merry Grinch-mas" and at the end of the song the Grinch came out to surprise everyone!!! We rushed to get at the front of the line to meet him!


Peter was so excited to see the Grinch that he actually waited in line like a good boy! When it was finally his turn he ran up to the Grinch and gave him a big ol' bear hug! I think he almost knocked him over with that tackle!


Peter was walking on air the rest of the morning! He got to meet the Grinch! It was such an exciting day!
