Peter is now 2 months old! I can't believe how fast time goes! Feels like we just brought him home yesterday...
Life is going pretty good around here. We are beginning to adjust to outings as a family. It's funny the things you don't notice until you have a baby. The elevators at the mall are sparse. A lot of events we used to go to just start way too late now. When looking for parking in the desert summer we definately try to find cover now. And finding places to feed and change a baby are few and far between. Thankfully we HAVE found the elevators at the mall so that's getting easier to get around. We have to park a little further away sometimes for shade or to make sure we have enough room to get the car seat out. And we are beginning to know which places have the nice changing stations out on the town. I LOVE Tucson Mall because they actually have a nursing lounge which is kinda cool. So we are adjusting well!
John celebrated his 29th birthday this week! We went out to Red Lobster Friday afternoon to celebrate. When we got home there was a package from my mom with a few beer steins from Germany for his birthday which he loved. Then we just spent the evening watching movies at home. Last month we were able to get my parents Buick transfered into John's name and he is now driving himself to and from work every day. That makes such a huge difference from me having to drop him off for the past few years since we had only one car. He definately is loving the added independence he now has!
I am adjusting to spending some time at home with Peter. I've never really been one to keep an immaculate house, but I am able to stay on top of things a bit more now. I go a little stir crazy every once in a while but I'm starting to have new errands and little things to do. Most importantly I've found a couple mommy/parenting groups and have started to go to those. If anything it is nice to get out of the house and see other moms and babies that are different ages. I am beginning to have something available every day if I need to get out of the house.
Peter is growing so fast!! Two months old and this past Thursday he weighed in at 12 lbs! I can't wait to go to the doctor next week and find out how tall he is because I know that is growing too. He's gotten so BIG! Last night I went through his drawers and was pulling out thing she no longer fits into. The majority of the 0-3 month stuff is already put away in a box. Some things he never wore. I made a pile of things he's almost out of but are so cute I HAVE to make him wear them this week atleast once before they get packed away.
Peter is full of smiles now, especially at changing time. He seems to know the routine by now and lifts his legs for us at the right times, it's too cute! Whenever he wakes up in his crib he lets out short wails until someone comes in but whenever I come in there and look in his crib he stops his moaning and just smiles at me. He is starting to be able to hold his head up for longer periods of time though usually after about 30-45 seconds he gets tired and lets it wobble then fall again. Bathtime is getting better. He used to just wail through the entire thing but his bath today he actually smiled a couple times, granted most of the time he looked pretty uncomfortable but he never actually let out a cry so that was very cool. And the BEST news right now is that I just had 3 nights in a row where he slept straight through from11pm until 5:30am. I've been getting 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. He's done that every once in a while but now 3 nights in a row!!! I needed that!!! Hopefully it will be more likely than not from now on! ;-) (Knock on wood!)
I'm including a couple pics of Peter to keep ya updated. Feel free to drop me a line anytime. We love to hear from family & friends!
